CTE-Career and Technical Education

CTE offers a wide variety of career pathway courses in fields including Media Arts such as Graphic Design, 3D Animation, Digital Photography, Video Production, Journalism, Yearbook, Accounting and Business Principles, Transportation, Building Trades, Design and Production.

ELD-English Language Development

The ELD department provides coursework to ensure that limited-English proficient (LEP) students (now called English learners in California) develop proficiency in both the English language and the concepts and skills contained in the English–language arts content standards.

English

The English department offers courses in English Language Arts, Advanced Placement, Literature and Composition, Shakespeare, Contemporary Literature, Expository Reading and Writing, and Speech and Debate.

El Camino

El Camino is an alternative high school that uses an innovative, blended learning education model to provide students with the best education possible combining the best of online learning with traditional onsite education.

Math

The Math department provides courses including all levels of Algebra, Geometry, Geometry in Construction, Financial Algebra, Calculus(AP), and Statistics(AP).

Phoenix

Phoenix offers a small school environment where students receive a small school experience with a common group of students and teachers, while accessing a variety of elective choices available at RCHS.

Science

The Science department offers courses in Earth Science, Biology(AP), Chemistry, Physics(AP), Anatomy/Physiology, Ag Sciences, and Health Science including Biomedical Sciences, Medical Terminology, Internships, and Psychology.

Social Studies

Social Studies provides coursework in World History(AP), U.S. History(AP), Government, Economics, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Government and Politics.

Sped-Special Education

VPA-Visual and Performing Arts

The VPA department offers a variety of courses including beginning to advanced levels of Art, Drawing, Pottery, AP Studio Art, Drama, Vocals, Choir, Symphonic Band, Concert/Marching Band, and Auxiliary Band. 

World Languages

World Languages provides courses in levels 1,2,3, and AP Spanish and French designed to develop communicative, interpretative, and presentational proficiency from novice to advanced levels according to ACTFL standards.

Non-Departmental: ASB/Leaderhip, AVID, Senior Project

Student Government and Leadership (ASB) is designed to teach leadership skills that will enhance school pride, spirit and culture focusing on standards designed by the California Association of Directors of Activities.

AVID-AVID elective courses at all grade levels are designed to prepare, in a rigorous academic context, its students for entrance into four year colleges, while giving students a support system in the AVID class through tutorials, coaching in note-taking, organization and study skills, analytical writing, collaborative work, college counseling, placement exams preparation, research, and more.

Senior Project is designed to allow Seniors to accomplish a project of their choosing based on career exploration, community service, or as an extension of curricular work completed through their studies.
