Schools and Programs

El Camino
El Camino is an alternative education program that uses an innovative, blended learning education model to provide children with the best education possible. We are one of California's first flex hybrid school programs, combining the best of online learning with traditional onsite education. Our engaging and personalized online courses truly maximize each student's full potential, through a combination of onsite certified teachers, state-of-the-art digital tools, and online courses and resources. Students will receive inpidual and small group instructional support. Students interested in enrolling in this opportunity are asked to complete an application available in the school office. Anyone interested in learning more, contact Assistant Principal, Angie Scardina 707-792-4771

Phoenix High School
Phoenix has offered a small school environment in this district for nearly 20 years. This program will continue to operate at RCHS. These students receive a small school experience with a common group of students and teachers, while accessing a variety of elective choices available on the RCHS. If your student’s schedule shows a Personal Power course, then they are enrolled in this program. Students interested in enrolling in this opportunity are asked to complete an application available in the school office. This promises to be an excellent program and we invite anyone interested in learning more, contact Assistant Principal, Angela Scardina at 792-4750.

Home/Hospital Instruction
Students who have been diagnosed with a long-term debilitating illness or have some other extenuating circumstance may apply for home instruction if their physician requests in writing that they be placed in the program (a diagnosis and specific duration must be included in the doctor note). Students in Home/Hospital Instruction may have a teacher meet them at an agreed upon location for five (5) hours a week. Please contact your administrator for further information. Anyone interested in learning more, contact your students counselor at 792-4750.

Independent Study (IS) Program
Independent Study is an alternative for students who are unable to attend any of the district high schools due to special personal needs. Instruction is provided for the students for one (1) hour per week, with approximately 34 hours of school work coming under the supervision of the parent/guardian(s) and through Aventa online instruction. Independent Study is not a program for students who are credit deficient or have attendance issues, and students may not miss more than three (3) independent study meetings with the teacher. Failure to keep 3 Independent Study appointments and/or to complete the assignments each week may result in the student’s being dropped from Independent Study back to their former high school. Anyone interested in learning more, contact your students counselor at 792-4750.
